Fanboy is a Naval Flight Officer and TOPGUN graduate. He is Payback's weapon systems officer (WSO).
In the Top Gun: Maverick trailer, Fanboy is seen in the backseat of the F/A-18F piloted by Payback. The font on Fanboy's helmet alludes to him being a Star Trek fanboy.
